Circle K’s Largest Ever 24-Hour Service Station Opens In Gorey

The New Business Off The M11 Will Cater For 20,000 Motorists Daily

The largest Circle K 24-hour service station in the company’s network has opened off the M11 at Ballyellen in Gorey, Co. Wexford.

It is set to cater for up to 20,000 motorists who pass by the location daily, while creating 40 new jobs.

Open 24/7, the new service station includes an extensive deli food range, a Mexican street food offering and fully serviced barista offering, providing a tasty selection of iced coffee and ice cream.

As well as having a McDonalds restaurant and seated café area, there is an indoor and outdoor play area for the kids, a Fáilte Ireland tourist information point and a considerable amount of parking space for truck and coach drivers.

Speaking on the launch day, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland, Niall Anderton said:

“Today is a momentous day for Circle K, as we mark the opening of the largest Circle K in the entire global Circle K network, on the M11 at Gorey and look forward to catering for the needs of some 20,000 motorists daily.

“With this newest addition to the Circle K network, we are also delighted to bring 40 new jobs to the local area which further reinforces Circle K’s ongoing commitment to investment and job creation in the Irish market.”

The Gorey station is part of a larger overall investment of €35m by the fuel and convenience retailer giant, announced last year, which will see four new sites created.

Last December, the first of these was opened at J7 Kill on the N7. Two further stations are planned to open in Kildare and Westmeath later in 2019. The latest 24-hour service station off the M11 makes up the fourth.

Mr Anderton concluded:

“2019 is another huge year for Circle K as we will open two further state of the art sites on the M9 at Kilcullen in Co. Kildare and the M6 at Athlone, Co. Westmeath which again will be significant additions to the Irish transport network.”
